Coach Mark Bottrill's blog:

Preliminaries opened up with decent overall results to get the club rolling into the meet.

Andre Kudaba was first up with a rough 400 IM. Not much happened here. Vanessa Hanbury pulled the fastest heat in her 400 IM and acquitted herself well with a best time effort at 5:08. Next up was Michael Cai with a BT and new 17&u Boys Team Record (1:05.70) in 100 Breast and 15th overall landing him in the B Final. His his 50 split of 30.78 also be the 50 Breast Team record in his age group.  He needs to be the other 17 year old to start the process of earning his spot on the World Youth team. Next up saw Kathy Qu pump out a great 104:47 100 fly for a best time and under the National standard. She placed 49th with this swim. Last was Drew Christensen with a 5:06 400 Free that will see him go into the finals ranked 4th.

The meet had some great early races but will evolve into much better morning efforts as the sense of urgency increases for those in the hunt of team positions.

Stay tuned!
