Coach Mark Bottrill's blog:
Drew Christensen was super in his 100 Fly final tonight. Broke the Canadian record from 1998 with a 1:09.56. This swim will place him 8th in the world.
All the other swimmers did prep work to be ready for their final swims of the meet Sunday morning.
Meanwhile back in BC, Hyack's top age group swimmers aged 11-14 took part in a Starts-Turns camp focussing on the underwater action that is required for world class swimming these days. A special treat for them was to break away and watch today's finals live as a TV was set up at the pool. On top of witnissing 2 Canadian records, they saw their current teammate Drew race the 100 Fly live and the 200 IM from the other night, plus former teammate Tanya Hunks win the 800 Free. Certainly a memorable and inspiring afternoon for them.
