New Canadian and Provincial Record on first day of Provincials
The first day of the TAS BC Provincial Long Course Championships, hosted by the Richmond Rapids, kicked off today at the Watermania Pool in Richmond. With over 660 athletes entered in the competition, it is sure to be an action packed weekend as swimmers race towards the poidum and selection to the Far Western Provincial Team.

Drew Christensen of HYACK broke his own Canadian record in the S8 category for Swimmers with a Disability in the 100m Back. Christensen recently set a Canadian record in this event while competing in Berlin at the 22 International German Swimming Championships in May with a time of 1:17.85. During finals this evening Drew lowered that record even further touching the wall with a time of 1:17.44, earning the bronze medal. |
