Mike Cai was the final show for us at the meet. The B final in the 200 IM was up first and Mike raced hard but fell short of his time from the day before. Half an hour later he was up again in the A final of the 200 Breast and was determined to get to the podium. Racing neck and neck with Mike Brown of UCSC for the first 50 our Mike looked great through to the 100 and then started to feel his hard move early in the race. Mike fought hard to stay up in medal contention but fell back to 6th in the long run. It was a bit off his best from the day before, which was a Hyack Team 17&u and Senior record (2:20.85). That Senior Record came at the expense of his former age-group coach, Serge Score. Two solid weeks of racing took it’s toll on him. Mike however has placed himself second overall for the Junior Pan Pac Team which will go to Guam in December 2008.
