HYACK's Specialized Programs: High School

The Hyack Swim Club offers a number of programs that do not fall into the typical Age-group Training structure.  These programs are usually very specific in nature to develop a certain type of aquatic activity through swim training.  Some are ongoing throughout the year and some are for a specific time period.  Some programs are brand new for this year and are being developed on an ongoing basis for next year and beyond.

Overview: The Highschool group is for athletes to maintain previous skills and learn new skills in a modified practise environment.

The group is ideal for swimmers who wish to take a step back from the demands of a Provincial or Youth National competitve program, but would like to 'stay in shape' with some pool workouts a few times a week.

Any swimmers who are interested in stroke improvement, general fitness, training for Lifesaving courses, etc, would fit well into this group.

The main focus in this level is to have fun with a variety of skills, drills, and sets in practice.

Pre-requisites
: There are no specific requirements for the group.  Generally the swimmers are able to follow a workout and swim multiple meters at a time.  Full attendance is optimal, but not required. Ages: 13 & over.

Practices: 3 x per week, 1 to 1 ¼ hour of swimming and 15-30 min of dryland.  This program is exclusive to CCAC in Coquitlam only.
