2025 Canada Games St John's - Newfoundland and Labrador
Based on his results this year, Derex was selected from Hyack to compete in the Canada Games.
He represented and was a member of the Team BC.
He had a good start in the 400-meter medley and advanced straight to the final, where he finished fifth with a time of 4:38.45. Derex just missed his personal best time in the 400 IM.

Then competed in the 50-meter and 200-meter breaststroke, where he made it to the finals, but unfortunately was unable to continue the competition due to food poisoning.
Nevertheless, we congratulate him on his results and wish him much success in the future!
